As women we usually fall into one of about 3 categories when it comes to relating to other women.
1. You may be very blessed to have a group of women in your life to be completely honest with, comfortable around, and enjoy spiritual intimacy with. If this is you please understand that you are blessed!
2. You have women in your life but none that you would consider sharing your fears, failures, or even triumphs with. You talk about "weather" issues, nothing too personal. You don't ask for prayer or help. Maybe you are afraid of rejection or believe you are not worthy of someone else's time or energy. Oh but you are!
3. You never get outside of you. Your problems are so important to you and so that is all you can see. You request help, prayer, etc..... but can never seem to get to the place of returning it.
I'm sure there are at least a few in each category who are reading this. So let's do something today to help each other out of our box, or maybe even out of our comfort zone. If you are one of the women who is blessed to have great women in your life than you can bless a woman who may not by praying for her today. If you are a woman that falls into category 3 then you can practice being other-focused today by lifting up someone you may or may not know in prayer!
This is what we are going to do. I will start by leaving a personal prayer request in the comment section. Please don't share anything too personal or on the flip side, too general.
The person who comments after me will pray for my request as often as they think of it and until you feel released from it, it doesn't have to be just one formal prayer.
I will pray for the last person to leave a comment.
I am struggling with busy-itis. I get anxious when I sit still. Motherhood has brought this on I'm sure of it. Please pray that I can find peace in just sitting still before the Lord.
ReplyDeletePlease pray that I can adjust to having three children (newborn) instead of just two and that I will see this as the blessing that it is instead of feeling totally overwhelmed by it.
ReplyDeletePray that I can prioritize my time better, making time for me to take care of myself spiritually and physically. And that when I do spend time in God's work, it will be a true delight, and not something to "check off my to do list."
ReplyDeletePray for strength through the journey of our fertility treatments. Knowledge that even if they don't work, I am still worth something as a human being.
ReplyDeleteI've been cheating and praying for all of you! Thank you for being open and thank you for your prayers for me too!
