Friend of a Friend Giveaway

A friend of a friend and a dear friend of mine (two different people) have something in common. One of them has already adopted a child from Africa and has another on the way and one of them is awaiting the adoption of two children from Africa. They don't know each other, I don't think..... We do live in Oklahoma so you just never know.

Amy, the friend of a friend, is giving away a great necklace on her blog for anyone who posts about this website, Junk Posse Jewlery. Your name goes into the drawing once if you blog about it and twice if you also put the details on your facebook. I would love to win this necklace and give it to my friend for Christmas. So wish me luck! Check out Amy's blog for all of the details and check out some more of Junk Posse's awesome necklaces below.

The More the Merrier

My husband and I did not intend (ahum) to have two children so close together. We had talked about having two or more children but not in any length. We were busy enjoying the first year of our beautiful daughter's life when.......4 months before her 1st birthday we were shocked to find out baby numero dos was on it's way. It's a little weird wearing a maternity shirt and having a baby bump on your child's first birthday. We had to assure our family that yes, we do know what causes this..

As I'm sure a lot of you know, it is not the easiest thing in the world to have two babies so close together. Two in diapers- one breastfeeding while the other runs wild in the house, one screaming while one still only knows about 6 words, and one sleeping while the other is throwing a tantrum while you are trying to hold a pillow over their face so they won't wake the other. (not really)

But the older these two get the more thankful I am for the gift of our surprise baby and the blessing they will both receive by always having a companion (partner in crime) around.

This picture is worth a thousand words and makes me want to have maybe just a few more.

balANCE

I find myself swinging back and forth on this pendulum of a balanced life.

Balance in my relationship with the Lord, as a wife, a mother, a friend, a daughter, a steward of my body, a servant, a housekeeper, a bookkeeper, a cook..........WHEW! It can be enough to knock you right off your horse at times.

Some weeks I feel like I have it all together.

And then I am humbled and I have to remember that I can do nothing without HIM.

I am thankful that He keeps reminding me of this because I truly cannot imagine this life without the hope that I have found. He carries my burdens and HAS to be the center of my life or else I have found it just doesn't work right.
