BUM GENIUS UPDATE

SO......cloth diapers really aren't that bad!
If you can get over toilet water splashing up on your
hands when you are dumping ummmm you know,
into the toilet then you will be just fine.

I would definitely agree with the website that you
need to purchase at least 6 for part-time use and
12 for full time use unless you are the type of person
who does 4 loads of laundry each day. (That might
be a Type A thing that I wouldn't know about).
Also, the one-size diapers I bought from Bum Genius
aren't too tight on Hayden's fat little thighs yet but he
will probably out grow them before he is potty trained.
So if you have a fat-thighed little one I might suggest
trying the Fuzzi Bunz XL size for the "larger build"
babies like I am going to do. I also think I might
like the snaps of the Fuzzi Bunz vs. the velcro of the
Bum Genius because I always forget to snap them
together and then my laundry comes out of the dryer
with everything attached to the diapers.

I will say it was so nice not having to drop 40 bucks at
Sam's this week and not to mention our two huge trash
cans outside weren't filled to the brim. Good stuff all around.

Bum Genius

I never thought I would attempt cloth diapers in my whole entire life. Yes, I always laugh hysterically when a mom tells me they are going to use cloth diapers. I'm now recanting and apologizing. (Although I still think cloth diapers and young infants is a really bad combo.)

And
I am utterly refusing to buy another box of diapers. (I will probably recant that statement too.)

But after buying diapers for a consecutive 38 months I just can't do it anymore. So I invested $60 yesterday in 3 Bum Genius diapers. That is less than the cost of 2 more boxes of diapers at Sam's and if we have more children then they will dutifully serve again. I am hoping that they will spur Hayden to use the potty a little more because they don't feel quite as nice when they are completely full.

Can I also say that they are ridiculously cute. This also helped in my decision. I opted for Moonbeam, Butternut, and Ribbit. But there were several other contenders.

The most difficult part was actually deciding between the Bum Genius and the Fuzzi Bunz. The Bum Genius is a one-size-fits-all adjustable diaper and the Fuzzi Bunz come in xsmall, small, medium, and large. I am buying cloth diapers because I don't want to buy anything else ever again so I went with the one-size-fits-all.

They have snaps that allow you to adjust the diaper to fit your growing baby. Genius I tell you! Haha. Here is a diagram just for you.

Hopefully Hayden will continue giving me his poo signs and I can avoid as much of that stuff as possible. And if I like them well enough I will probably need to order a couple more.
I will keep you posted!
