Smile Please??!!!

As a busy mother of two small children I often forget to capture the moments of life in pictures. I rarely remember to bring my camera anywhere and if I do bring it I forget to actually use it. Shawn is way better about taking pictures than I although he has slacked a lot since Hayden was born.
Interestingly enough he feels cheated because he doesn't think he has enough pictures of his childhood while I on the other hand have plastic tubs filled to the brim of just about every event in my life thanks to my picture lovin'....more like picture nazi grandma. Seriously, there is no one else like her. If you marry into our family this is one of those things that falls into the "for better or worse" category. Even after all of these years, my siblings and cousins still roll our eyes as we line up perfectly and shout in unison (my grandma is deaf in one ear) "turn the camera on grandma!"
Anyway, I sound like I don't appreciate my grandmother's hard work but really I am very thankful for all of the wonderful memories she captured. I will try to scan and post some of the greatest pictures of all time for you soon.

That being said today we went to Bass Pro Shop (I know, who would've guessed right?) to celebrate a 4th of July afternoon. They had little activities set up for the kiddos and I actually brought my camera and took it out of my bag and decided I need to give my kids some proof that I did raise them since I'm hardly ever in the pictures that I do take. So here is me so excited to be with my daughter painting a bird house on the 4th of July and wanting to savor the moment with a picture.

"Smile Berklee!"
"Come on, mommy wants a pretty picture. Smile honey."
"Okay, that's a little better. Now show me your teeth please?"
"Mommy will give you a treat if you smile."
"Your not being very nice. Mommy is Not happy with you right now! Now smile!"(Through clenched teeth) "Smile or you are going to get a spanking.""Geesh! Thank you! Now let's paint a stinkin' bird house."
